Yesterday, in her countdown to The Great Impersonator, Halsey shared their spot-on impersonation of Kate Bush to tease her track "I Never Loved You," and now, the full song has finally arrived.
"I Never Loved You" is an '80s-tinged song inspired by Kate Bush, as Halsey sings in the chorus, "So now you can take the money, you can get on a plane/ To a beautiful island, build her house in my name/ You can donate all the money to somebody in pain/ And you can rest your head down and not feel any shame/ I never loved you/ I never loved you/ I never loved you in vain."
Halsey also shared what looks like a glimpse of the song's accompanying music video, packed with big '80s hair and bold looks.
"I Never Loved You" is track 10 on The Great Impersonator, and follows several other songs that have been released from the album already, including "Lucky," "Lonely Is The Muse" and "Ego." The full album is set to drop later this month on October 25th.
Halsey has said of The Great Impersonator, "I made this record in the space between life and death. And it feels like I’ve waited an eternity for you to have it. I’ll wait a bit longer. I’ve waited a decade, already. "
